With over 10 years working alongside Dr. Lin, Julia assists in psychological and psychoeducational testing for children, teens, and adults. Her main goal is to pinpoint the client’s strengths and areas of need, and will work together with parents and individuals to provide practical recommendations for successfully managing intellectual, learning, behavioural and/or social emotional differences at school, in the workplace, or at home. Julia also works with parents on an individual basis, heading up the Parent Consult Services. Julia provides one-on-one consultations with parents and clients to support and assist them in moving forward with their diagnoses following an assessment.
Julia graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Education in the Primary/Junior division. She also has her Special Education Additional Qualifications through the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario.
For 3 years, Julia sat in as a member of the Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) for the Durham Board of Education representing the Tourette Syndrome Foundation of Canada and continues to work extensively with children and teens who have been diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome, TS+, ADHD, and Autism. Julia holds a Masters in Counselling Psychology, and has been trained in working with sexually traumatized children, CBT, Sandtray, and Play Therapy.
Julia has been married for over 23 years and has two beautiful teenaged boys.
